Time for Photos

October 5, 2010 § Leave a comment

Time Magazine has a fantastic photo section on its website.  The photos are neatly organized (re: points for usability) according to week and go in chronological order, starting with the most recent. Most news outlets have great photo sections, but Time has the best (in my opinion, of course). The photos Time selects not only exemplify great photography, but great photography relating to current events ranging from international politics to college football. The photos often put context into stories, which obviously is a great way to capture an audience. For example, I would have not chosen to read a story about newly trained female officers in the Afghan National Army had I not seen a stunning photo from the officers’ graduation ceremony in Kabul.
